A full time qualification to develop your aesthetic knowledge and skills, enabling you to enhance your artistic potential.
The course is designed to develop both specialist and multi- disciplinary personnel, increasing the learner’s employability in academic and business fields.
The course will develop your visual awareness, practical skill, and knowledge of art history and theory. Beginning with technical skills, the course will transition into an independent, self—directed studio practice. This course programme is tailored to encourage curiosity, fearlessness and discipline.
During your time at AFA you will practice various facets of art making, drawing, concept development, methods and materials through practical studio course work. AFA also offers a range of specialized units such as Photography, Interior Design, Textile Design, Management and Curation of Art Exhibitions, and Digital Media in Art and Design. You will be encouraged to explore and experiment with processes, material and ideas.
Further Studies :After successfully completing the HND you will have the option to top up the qualification to a full Bachelor's degree from a UK university or enter employment.
Assessment Methods :You will work with a range of specialist lecturers including practicing designers, in a well-equipped studio and workshop. Project briefs are set for each assignment, and you are encouraged to develop a personal response to each task. All activities are supported through one-on-one tutorials and group discussions to inform you of personal progress and to aid assessment. Assessment is continuous throughout the course, with assignments graded at the end of each task.
